They've got all the style of a hotel, for a fraction of the price. Vincent Crump finds Britain's best new-wave B&B's "At first glance, Burlington House looks like a bonsai business hotel, its 12 dapper bedrooms dressed in brown and burgandy, with the odd flash of fashionable wallpaper and lots of clean lines. The you meet Nes, its presiding genius — consummate host, ace granola-maker and factotum. He elevates this Victorian merchant's house to a home, offering raved-about breakfasts — all is freshly ground or free-range; even the yogurt is home-made — and tips on city-going"

  • Fantastic Little B&B

Great B&B with the 5 star touch. Not too far from town. Easy to jump on the bus for a couple of quid and about a 15 min ride to the centre.

Rooms big, clean and fully equipped. Nice and quiet with very friendly staff. Breakfast in the mornings was amazing.

Will definately stay here again when we come back to Oxford.

  • Great choice in Oxford for adults

From the warm welcome from Nes through to the powerful shower, comfortable bed and fabulous breakfast, we thoroughy enjoyed our 2-night stay. In town for a wedding, we really enjoyed the Summertown restaurants which are within a 5 minute walk, and the centre is easily accessible by bus or a short taxi ride.

A big plus is the fact that Burlington House has parking, which in our book more than made up for the premium B&B rates. Thoroughly recommended.

  • A great place to stay

This is a lovely boutique hotel. It's close to Oxford with buses passing every few minutes. My room was small but clean and well-appointed. The wireless internet was handy. The manager (Nes) was very helpful. The breakfasts were fabulous - home-made muesli, poached fruit, great omelettes.

I had a really pleasant stay - thoroughly recommended.

  • Perfect

This hotel is about a 15 minute walk into town, but there are plenty of buses into Summertown, the area itself is lovely.

My room was spotless, I really appreciated the complimentary wifi in my room as I had busineess to attend to whilst on my short break. The breakfasts were excellant and very substantial. I was in a room at the back of the hotel and it was lovely and quiet.

I really do reccomend this hotel, it is very good value for money.
